Senior Policy Analyst Kristin Schumacher will join the California Alternative Payment Program Association (CAPPA) for their annual discussion on the Governor’s proposed budget and the state’s fiscal landscape. Kristin will provide an overview of the Governor’s 2018-19 budget proposal and talk about how services and supports for low-income families have fared in recent budget cycles.
Hosted by the Public Policy Exchange, this timely symposium will assess the impact of Proposition 57 and investigate alternatives for reducing costs. Executive Director Chris Hoene will deliver his presentation “Addressing Overcrowding in California’s Prisons: Sentencing Reforms, Decreasing Incarceration Levels, and Reducing Costs” for the panel discussion “Assessing the Impact of Proposition 57, Evaluating Strategies to Reduce Costs and Maintain Efficiency. ”
