The Budget Center will host a #CutPovertyCA Twitter chat to discuss the 2016 Census poverty figures for California and what they mean for our state. The chat will be an opportunity to share your perspective on poverty and discuss ways that policymakers and other key players could help address economic hardship and broaden prosperity.
The Southern California Association of Non Profit Housing (SCANPH) will host its annual conference with the theme: YIMBY (Yes In My Backyard). Senior Policy Analyst Sara Kimberlin, along with Housing Data Analyst Danielle M. Mazzella of California Housing Partnership, will deliver the workshop, “Using Data to Inform Poverty Alleviation and Housing Policy.”
As part of the Policy Perspectives Speakers Series, the California Budget & Policy Center will join with the California Community Foundation in hosting a county budgeting training. This two part event will explain county budgeting in California and discuss specific ways that you can engage with the process and county budget advocacy.
The Budget Center’s annual conference will take place Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the Sacramento Convention Center. Policy Insights is a chance to join hundreds of policymakers, business and community leaders, and others in discussing how our state can broaden economic opportunity and help low-income families to advance.
