Proposition 30 Has Increased California’s K-12 School Spending

The California Budget & Policy Center this morning released a new fact sheet that shows how Proposition 30 revenues have helped increase state support for K-12 schools. This analysis shows that in the period since voters approved Proposition 30’s temporary tax increases in November 2012, the gap between California’s per student spending and that in the rest of the US has narrowed substantially, although California still lags the rest of the nation by nearly $1,000 per pupil. Read the fact sheet.
