2017 Assets Matter Symposium

November 2, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

Organized by the The California Asset Building Coalition and the Bay Area Asset Funders Network, the purpose of this symposium is to generate new ideas and highlight innovative strategies across a range of topics (products, services, issue areas, policies, populations served) in the asset building and financial empowerment fields in California. The Symposium will bring together asset building practitioners, advocates, funders, and enthusiasts for a day of ideas, information-sharing and connecting with other innovators. Executive Chris Hoene will moderate the panel discussion, California EITC Expansion and Beyond: Policies that Provide Cash Assistance and Wealth-Creation Opportunities for Californians. The panel, featuring Senior Policy Analysts Alissa Anderson and Sara Kimberlin, will explore options for CalEITC expansion and how cash assistance programs such as Universal Basic Income can work to end poverty and create wealth.
