Reimagining the Golden State: Creating Economic Opportunity for the Next Generation

Hosted by the Berkeley Institute for the Future of Young Americans at Goldman School of Public Policy, this event featured the panel discussion Reevaluating Our Social Safety Net with an Eye toward Young Americans. The panel discussed income stagnation among young Americans and some of the policy solutions currently on the table to address it. Senior Policy Analyst Sara Kimberlin discussed the California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) and what the recent expansion of this important tax credit in the 2018-19 state budget means for low-income workers in California.
