Budget Center Executive Director Chris Hoene presented high-level analysis of the Governor’s 2016-17 revised budget—including its social and economic context—and outlined the policy choices and outcomes that have occurred during the year’s budget deliberations.
Chris’ presentation was followed by a discussion with an amazing panel of policy experts including Richard Figueroa (The California Endowment), Patrick Murphy (Public Policy Institute of California) and Micah Weinberg (Economic Institute of the Bay Area Council) who provided insights on the winners, losers, and opportunities captured or missed in the revised budget and provided some recommendations on the role that funders can play.
