Charlene Valentin (she/her/hers)

Charlene Valentin, Operations Manager, works alongside the operations team to ensure that internal systems across people operations, technology, and office management run smoothly and equitably. She helps oversee processes such as payroll, onboarding, IT systems administration, and internal policy development, while also supporting cross-team coordination and vendor relationships. Her role focuses on building practical, values-aligned infrastructure that supports the organization’s hybrid workplace, cultivates a positive staff experience, and ensures that operational systems evolve in tandem with organizational needs.

Before joining the Budget Center in 2025, Charlene was the senior human resources and operations manager at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area, where she oversaw compliance, HR systems, equity-focused policies, and large-scale operational initiatives. She brings over seven years of experience in nonprofit operations and holds certifications in Lean Six Sigma and change management. She earned her master of business administration with a concentration in organizational leadership from the University of California, Davis.

Charlene was born and raised in the Philippines. She’s a stargazer and trail-wanderer, a lover of flavors and daydreams, currently on her greatest adventure yet: raising a tiny human with love, snacks, and wonder.
