Helping California’s children stay healthy is critical to the well-being of families and communities and to the future of our state. Doing so depends on having a coordinated health care system that encompasses public health care coverage for low- and moderate-income Californians as well as comprehensive public health services.

On June 2, 2015, the Budget Center held a webinar that discussed health programs for California’s children and families and explored the opportunities and challenges our state faces in promoting youth health and wellness. This webinar reported on findings from the Budget Center’s recently released special report on children’s health programs and looked at how the right policy choices could support healthy children and a healthy California.

Speakers:

  • Edward Schor, Senior Vice President, Programs and Partnerships, Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health
  • Timothy T. Brown, Associate Adjunct Professor of Health Economics, University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health
  • Kristin Schumacher, Policy Analyst, California Budget & Policy Center
  • Scott Graves, Director of Research, California Budget & Policy Center
