Irene Cruz (she/her/hers)
Administrative Associate
Irene Cruz, Administrative Associate, provides data, systems, and administrative support across the Budget Center. Irene maintains Salesforce records, pulls reports, publishes digital content, organizes internal systems, and supports organizational infrastructure. Irene works closely with team members across development, communications, and outreach to ensure data integrity and the timely completion of tasks.
Before joining the Budget Center in 2026, Irene was a development associate in the Oakland Promise. In this role, she aimed to strengthen the organization’s gift processing, stewardship and donor relation processes. She also served as a research and operations associate at the Postsecondary National Policy Institute in Washington DC. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a master’s degree in education policy from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Irene is a proud daughter of Salvadoran immigrants, a first-generation college graduate, and a Bay Area native. Outside of the office, Irene enjoys traveling, finding the best Bay Area eateries, and spending time with family.
